Our Approach to Education

At TPIS, we provide a personalised, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every young person is encouraged to achieve their full potential. We understand that all students learn differently, and our provision is designed to meet individual needs while building confidence, independence, and resilience.

Our curriculum combines academic learning, personal development, and therapeutic support to ensure students feel safe, valued, and ready to succeed both in education and in life.

Personalised Learning

We recognise that every young person has different strengths, interests, and barriers to learning. Staff work closely with students to create tailored learning experiences that support progress both academically and emotionally.

Pupil Voice

At TPIS, pupil voice is part of everyday school life. We actively encourage young people to share their views, ideas, and feedback so they feel listened to and involved in shaping the school community.

Students contribute through:

  • Pupil Voice meetings

  • Surveys and feedback forms

  • Creative projects

  • Daily discussions with staff

  • Celebrating achievements and positive contributions

We believe that when young people feel heard, they develop confidence, self-worth, and a stronger connection to their education.

Small Class Sizes

Our smaller class sizes allow students to receive individual support, build positive relationships with staff, and learn in a calm and structured environment.

Therapeutic and Pastoral Support

We understand the importance of emotional wellbeing in education. Our staff provide consistent pastoral support and work closely with external professionals, families, and carers to ensure young people feel supported throughout their journey.

Preparing for the Future

Our aim is to prepare students for positive futures by developing the skills, confidence, and resilience they need for adulthood.

We support students to:

  • Build positive relationships

  • Develop independence

  • Improve communication skills

  • Explore careers and aspirations

  • Gain qualifications and experience

  • Become active and valued members of their community
